At Mazda Canada, we have always stood for hope for the future. And building a better future starts with building up those around us.
Together, we are in the pursuit of crafting a brighter, more sustainable future for the generations that will follow us.
"Like every intricate fold of an origami paper crane, each partnership we create contributes to the beauty and strength of this collective mission. Backed by this collaborative spirit, we are investing in young people in the communities we serve, taking meaningful steps to empower them through education and mentorship."
– David Klan, President & CEO, Mazda Canada
Our sustainability pillars – Earth, People and Society – align with our brand purpose and the values of the people who work with us and drive our vehicles every day. We share a passion for empowering everyone to live to their full potential and see more equitable learning opportunities as the road to success.
From our headquarters in Japan to Canada, our entire global organization shares a strong sustainability vision. We are all equally dedicated to contributing to sustainable growth and building a better future for the next generation.
Learn more about our global sustainability effortsOur Japanese heritage gives us wisdom and values that guide our approach to sustainability and community engagement. We are on a never-ending quest to deepen our connection to our cultural legacy and find ways to connect it to our vision for the future.
Mazda is fully committed to eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. This is not a cost, value, PR or business issue, but rather – a promise to be the best corporate citizens and decent human beings we can, should, and must be. We invite you to explore how we are doing our utmost to take on this crucial issue.
Our efforts go beyond corporate philanthropy. They represent a genuine, shared commitment to nurturing the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow.
We are taking meaningful steps to empower youth in the communities we serve through education and mentorship. This includes long-term partnerships with leading youth-focused organizations Indspire and Pathways to Education.
LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIPSAt the heart of Mazda Canada’s vision for a sustainable future lies our commitment to empowering the next generation, including supporting and inspiring youth to reach their full potential.
Our Rising Legends program celebrates extraordinary Canadian youth who go above and beyond for the communities in which they live and work through volunteerism, mentorship or leadership.
Giving back whenever we can is an important part of our social purpose. We're proud to continuously make significant donations that support various charitable organizations and causes, from youth programs to humanitarian causes. We also proudly match 100% of employee donations. Together, we're proud to help co-create a positive future.
Achieving a safe and accident-free future is part of our global vision. That’s why we focus on continuing to develop advanced safety technologies within our i-Activsense safety suite, such as Smart Brake Support, Front and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and our Co-Pilot Concept, which will further support the safety of passengers in our vehicles.
“The most important thing in any of our vehicles are the people who drive them, and that they trust our vehicles to keep them and their families safe. We challenge ourselves every day to keep moving the bar higher so we can continue to earn that trust with every vehicle we make.”
– David Klan, President & CEO, Mazda Canada.
We are working towards a future where automotive innovation and environmental preservation go hand-in-hand.
By connecting today’s innovations with tomorrow’s possibilities, our focus is to ensure that when the next generation gets behind the wheel, they’ll be driving in a healthier, greener world.
We are hard at work crafting solutions that will pave the way for cleaner air, reduced carbon emissions, and overall, more sustainable operation––and our sustainability plan milestones are not far out of reach.
Launched electric vehicles and other electric drive technologies in targeted regions with clean energy and strict emission targets.
Introduce a number of electrified vehicles based on Mazda’s “SKYACTIV Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture”.
Introduce Mazda’s unique EV platform “SKYACTIV EV Scalable Architecture” for EVs with various vehicle sizes and body types.
100% of Mazda products will be electrified, with pure-electric vehicles accounting for at least 25%-45%. We will also reduce corporate average “well-to-wheel” CO2 emissions to 50% of 2010 levels by 2030, and achieve a 90% reduction by 2050.
Mazda will achieve carbon neutrality during the life cycle of its vehicles and the entire supply chain. Every facet of our operations – product, technology, manufacturing and sales, will be carbon neutral.
For Mazda, the future is more than batteries and charging stations. It's our mindset.
Kodo, electrified. Electric vehicles reduce ground-level emissions by running on 100% battery power and have lower maintenance costs compared to vehicles powered by internal combustion gas engines.
Hybrid vehicles improve fuel efficiency in stop-and-go traffic by combining an electric motor and an internal combustion gas engine. The battery that powers the electric motor is recharged through regenerative braking (mild hybrid/hybrid) or directly by plugging into the grid (plug-in hybrid).
By fostering a culture of wellness, diversity, inclusion, and equity, we’re cultivating a workforce that drives innovation and lays the groundwork for a brighter tomorrow.
At Mazda, our culture celebrates diversity and seeks unity, empowering everyone at Mazda Canada to be the best versions of themselves. And we are always looking for new perspectives.
“As a woman and a minority, Mazda’s DE&I priorities make me feel like it’s an emotionally safe environment. We sell cars, but we are doing so much more.”
